Early Times Report
Kathua, Apr 3: Former Power Minister Babu Singh has said that public is anxiously waiting for Ghulam Nabi Azad to become their MP to put forth their grievances in upcoming Parliament. He also said that Azad will win the elections with a record number of votes creating history.
"We were waiting anxiously since the announcement of elections that when Azad Sahab will come and contest polls", Babu said while addressing the public gathering at Kathua adding, "Now he is here and contesting elections. But we don't want him to spare maximum time here as he has many more responsibilities to campaign for other party candidates in rest of the country. But one thing we will ensure that amongst Lok Sabha, Doda-Udhampur seat will be won by Azad with record margin creating history. I will campaign as if I myself am contesting this election," Singh said and thanked UPA chairperson, Sonia Gandhi and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi for nominating Azad to contest election from Doda-Udhampur Parliament constituency. Hitting out at some political parties Singh said, "They have always tried to make cosmetic approach and try to use the cast and religion cards during election days to disturb the communal harmony of the state and country also just to seek the vote."
While criticizing the BJP he said, "BJP has been resorting to India Shining campaigns since Atal Bihari Vajpayee's Prime Ministership, but it did not click and the party is out of power for last 10 years," adding, "this time too, they are talking about a wave which does not exist. It might be outside but not here (J&K)." Taking a dig at BJP leadership for showing disrespect to its party stalwarts like Jaswant Singh, L K Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi, Singh said, "those who do not respect their parents and other elderly persons in relations, how can you expect respect from such people or party.
