Central package of one lac employments to youth yet to see light: JKDF

Early Times Report

Kathua, Apr 3: Launching a scathing attack on NC-Congress coalition JKDF president Anil Gupta has said the employment policy of the State Government which provides one fourth of salary in the first three years of employment and half of the salary for other two years and that too for non pensionable posts, has served as a cruel blow on youth of the State. Central package of one lac employments to youth is yet to see the light.
Anil Gupta pointed out that as per official figures the number of unemployed in the State which was recorded at 1.6 lakh about five years back, has now gone up to over 6 lakh. The government schemes are falling short in mitigating the woes of the unemployed. He recalled that even the election promises in this regard are not being kept by the ruling parties although they had promised so many jobs and also subsistence allowance in case of unemployment.
The discrimination against Jammu in the matter of recruitment is being often made to debar the youth of earning their livelihood. Corruption is ruling the roost in Jammu & Kashmir, as in past five years of NC- Congress coalition Government's rule at least a dozen scams and several cases of corruptions against the ministers have come in light. This reflects the kind of governance the coalition have given to people..
While militancy related incidents are still occurring in different parts of State, it's shocking to see Omar Abdullah demanding the withdrawal of Armed forces special power act (AFSPA). Border villages which often become the victims of cross border firing and shelling are not being compensated for the losses to crops and agriculture occurring during these incidents.
The people of these border villages are not having any source of income except the agriculture land which they cannot utlise for their livelihood due to the border skirmishes and other disturbances.
There is a need for deep look into the matter and the measures to rectify the wrongs which are resulting to a difficult situation. Lack of industrial growth and inadequate measures for exploiting the vast potential of tourism in Jammu areas can be taken as two major concerns.
Earlier Anil Gupta received overwhelming support from the people in Mansar, Billawar and Kandi area of Hiranagar. In Billwar an impressive public meeting was addressed by former Union Minister and MLA Chaman Gupta, who appealed the people to support Anil Gupta for accomplishing the pending development works and other economical reforms in the area which he dream of for the building the New Jammu.
