Cong mortgaged public interest for power: Dr Jitendra 4/3/2014 11:23:18 PM Early Times Report REASI, Apr 3: In a series of election meetings across the Arnas region through Salal, Jyotipuram over to Reasi, BJP candidate for Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Lok Sabha constituency, Dr Jitendra Singh referred to frequent power cuts in the area despite Salal Hydro-electric Project being located in the vicinity and said ,this was a glaring example of what he described as "hydro-electric mismanagement " by Congress leadership. Elaborating the point, he recalled that at the time of establishing Salal project, there was a Congress party government at the Center and also a Congress party government in the State but still they had failed to lay down definite terms and conditions about the share of power to be received by the region. Dr Jitendra Singh said the Congress party is not concerned about electricity- power for the people but is only concerned about "power" for itself for which it has always mortgaged public interest. Citing the example of latest scam of 25000 crore involving the Roshni scheme which took place in Jammu & Kashmir with the obvious connivance of high profile Congress leaders, Dr Jitendra Singh alleged, the Congress party has been indulging in scam after scam with impunity and shamelessness.
