Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 3: Calling upon the people of Jammu region to reject the candidates fielded in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections by Congress, PDP and those of national political parties, the Jammu State Morcha (JSM) said that such political parties always pursued anti Jammu and Kashmir oriented policies while ignoring their aspirations and interests
Addressing a press conference here today Prof. Virender Gupta alongwith other JSM leaders said that the Congress Party at the state level and the present Government at the Centre remained mute spectator to the anti-national statements of the State Chief Minister, terming State accession with India temporary and conditional.
The weak kneed policy of the Government of India in dealing with separatists, adopting soft approach towards demands of greater autonomy, joint control of India and Pakistan as raised by National Conference and PDP has encouraged the militants and separatists to continue their war against Indian Sovereignty, for their vested interests thus keep the situation in the state always boiling.
Further, the present Congress and National Conference alliance government has not come up to the expectations of the people of Jammu region. The corruption is at its peak in the present regime and the administration provided by it is most inefficient and insensitive to the issues confronting the people of the state. Most of the promises made particularly by the Congress Party to the people of Jammu province have not been fulfilled. The equitable development of Jammu region vis-à-vis Kashmir Valley as promised by the present Government still remains a dream. The discrimination with the people of Jammu province is continuing.
The repeated promises before every election to provide judicious solution to the problems of displaced persons from POJK in 1947, 1965 and 1971always remain hanging.
