JTC holds meeting to discuss electricity problem | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 3: A joint meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC), Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) and displaced Hindu Youth Front was held at Jagti Nagrota, Jammu under the Chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita, President JTC/SKF. The members said that Human Rights Commission directed to provide electricity facility as is being provided to the other consumers in the area. Department cannot have a discriminatory approach while providing electricity to the people. The order passed on 2-4-2014 No. SHRC/75-J of 2012/253 order as under. The above titled case in pending adjudication before this Commission and was listed for hearing on 25/03/2014. The Division Bench of this Commission comprising of Rafiq Fida, Chairperson and Amolak Singh Ld. Member, Jammu & Kashmir State Human Rights Commission has passed the order on date, operative part of which is reproduced as under:- "Dy. Commissioner Relief Mrs. Harvinder Kour Seeks some time to furnish the status of matter taken up with the PDD Department on next date. Time prayed for a granted. Mr. Shadi Lal Pandita has placed on record relevant documents, on perusal of which it is manifest that the Relief commissioner Jammu has been paying the electricity dues to the department under scheme. The migrants who are living in camps are entitled to basic amenities which include electricity as well as drinking water facility. It has been also submitted that the PDD Department is providing electricity which is basic amenity of the migrants residing in Jagti Township for the eight hours which is in all circumstances insufficient and inadequate. Department is directed to provide electricity facility as is being provided to the other consumers in area. Department cannot have a discriminatory approach while providing electricity to the people." |
