Darhal Health employees protest against TTO

Rajouri, Apr 3: More than 500 employees of Darhal Medical block today suspended work and staged protest against Tehsil Treasury Officer (TTO) alleging that he had failed to release their salary bills deliberately for the month of February.
Protestors also demanded inquiry and suspension of the TTO with immediate effect and had warned if the administration fails to take any action within next three days against erring officer they will boycott the election duties scheduled for April 10.
Employees alleged that Shakeel Choudhry , TTO at Darhal deliberately kept their bills under his table from March12-14 as he came to know that the transfer of BMO ,Darhal has been stayed by the court and alleged he demanded money from the employees to pass their bills. "On March,15, the TTO returned the bills saying that court has seized the drawing and disbursement (DD) powers of the present BMO and bills can't be cleared, one of the protestors alleged.
They also added TTO allegedly came to know about the stay through is proximity with one individual and blocked the salary bills to seek on monetary benefits. On March 28 Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Rajouri was authorized by the Director Health Services to sign the salary bills of the employees and accordingly on March 29 Dr Rajiv Sharma signed the salary bills and forwarded for release before the closing of the current financial year. "inspite of this , TTO didn't release the salaries of the Health Employees and ultimately all the amount lapsed" said Dr Iqbal Malik , officiating BMO , Darhal.
Meanhile the matter was also brought in the notice of Hemant Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner. Saleem Malik, Additional Deputy Commissioner when contacted said he had called Chief Medical Officer, District Treasury Officer and Tehsil Treasury Officer. "Both the officers have been directed to clarify their potions immediately and if found necessary a FIR will be lodged against TTO, he added.
