Transport Commissioner's Office raided, cashier arrested | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 3: An employee of the Transport Department was nabbed by the sleuths of State Vigilance Organization for demanding and accepting graft of Rs 5,000 from the complainant here today. A senior officer in Vigilance Department said that a team of State Vigilance Organization conducted a raid in the office of the Transport Commissioner, Jammu at Bahu Plaza following the complaint that a Junior Assistant cum Cashier posted in the said office was instrumental for corruption and all this was happening under the nose of the Transport Commissioner. He further said that while Vigilance was receiving the inputs, one Pankaj Vaid, owner of Vaid Transport Company, lodged a complaint with the office of the Vigilance Jammu stating that the Junior Assistant cum Cashier namely Deepak Sharma son of Seva Ram was demanding Rs 5,000 from him on the pretext to get the route permit transfer from old vehicle to new ones. Based on the complaint, a trap led by DySP Girdari Lal, Inspectors Rajesh Sharma, Inspector Zafar Amin and Inspector Pawan Kumar as laid and accordingly, the alleged was caught red handed with the graft of Rs 5,000. Vigilance after registering the case in the connection put the alleged accused under the custody of Pacca Danga Police station. |
