People, Panchayat representatives up in arms against Education department
GMS Dikri closed, future of over 150 poor students in dock

Jammu, Apr 3: After spending three and half month winter vacation, the teaching and non teaching staff posted in remote Girls Middle School Dikri of Chatroo Tehsil in Kishtwar District continue to holiday leaving the poor students to fend for themselves. The negligence of the staffers has evoked severe reaction from the students, people and the panchayat representatives.
As per the details available with "Early Times", responding to the public complaints the Panchayat representatives comprises of Sarpanch, Panch and parents of the students studying in Government Girls Middle school Dikri falling in Inderwal Education Zone of Kishtwar District visited/Inspected the said school and found the entire staff absent from duty.
While talking to "Early Times", the students and locals alleged that all the staff members of the school are non punctual and negligent in their duties. They said that they were informed that the ReT teacher namely Tanveer Akhter is on maternity leave, but added that keeping in view of her long leave, the said teacher had outsourced a local female in her place.
They said that another local ReT regularized teacher Satish Kumar is attached in ZEO office Inderwal, beside Amrish Wazir(I/C Headmaster) is also not attending the school since last two days. They further added that ReT teacher Jyoti Wazir did not attended the school even after long winter vacations. They said that one permanent teacher namely Sayeed Mohsin is attached in Kishtwar zone by the department. They also intimated that two posts of ReT were advertised by the education department for the said school some time back, but added that still the department fails to fulfill these two advertised posts. All the people including the parents and the students showed their great resentment towards the education department by raising the slogans like 'Education Department Hi Hi and we want teachers.
They also warned the department and the local administration that if their genuine demands are not fulfilled they will come on roads.
