Cricket tournament held at Kehli Mandi | | | Early Times Report
Samba, July 14, A cricket tournament in the memory of Rinku and Monu was held up at Kehli Ground Samba in which almost 16 teams from the surrounding areas took part. The final of this tournament played on 13 July between Bony Kings XI and new life teams. On winning the toss Bonny Kings XI chose to batting in first inning. It scored 110 runs in twelve overs having four players out. Then the new life team got closed at 30 runs only while lasting all the players. Present on the occasion, chief guest, National Conference Provincial President Davender Singh Rana addressed both the teams with the ethos of games and sports among Samba. In order to enhance the affinity of sports he presented the gifts of more than 2 lakhs to the sports enhancement there in the Samba city. Prominent among others were present Satwant Kour, Anil Singh Kaka, Capt. Inder Singh and Sarpanch Kamer Singh and others. While Pujara slid a place to be ranked eighth, Kohli slipped three places to go out of the top-10 to be ranked No.13. However, opener Murali Vijay has shown upward movement. The 30-year-old from Chennai scored 146 and 52 and has jumped 12 places to 30th. He is now India’s fourth highest-ranked batsman after Pujara (eighth), Kohli (13th) and captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (27th).
