Omar's crocodile tears impress none | No sops for Kashmir in Union budget | | Shakeel A Khan SRINAGAR, July 14: The Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah pretends to be upset over the Union budget presented by Arun Jaitley as there are no sops for the people of the Kashmir valley. The hue and cry made by the CM has been equalled to shedding crocodile tears. People of the Valley believe that Omar Abdullah isn't concerned about the fact that Centre ignored the Valley but what he is concerned about, as people say, that how he will convince the voters before the Assembly elections, due to take place in the later part of the year. In the opinion of the people Omar Abdullah is crying these days, which has become his habit since back breaking outcome of the recently held Parliamentary elections were announced. Otherwise it is a known fact that NC led Government during the last five and half years has let the people down on all fronts. "Omar Abdullah has got only one business to do which is to criticize the People’s Democratic Party. Each day he issues statements against his political rivals without looking into his own weaknesses," said Ghulam Qadir from Srinagar, while talking to Early Times. Qadir went on saying that by issuing such statements the Chief Minister of the state wants to cover up his failures. As per Sofi the Chief Minister will continue to do so as a means of damage control policy. People argue if Omar Abdullah is to be believed, the first budget presented by the Modi led Government has disappointed the Kashmiris, what has it done during the Manmohan Singh led UPA Government at the Centre, when it received huge amounts for the developmental purposes. People of the Valley say that during the unrest of 2010 the Chief Minister himself diverted the funds meant for the developmental works of the Valley and when the concerned people raised their voice against this, they were forced to eat the talk. People who have full knowledge about these facts say that the CM was informed through media and in the official meetings as well that the Valley is lagging behind on the developmental fronts as compared to the other regions of the state to which he paid no attention then. As per the people, drubbing in the recently held Parliamentary elections and apprehensions of the defeat in the coming Assembly elections has made the Chief Minister to think of the Valley ties which otherwise, as per the people, hasn't been given a fair deal. People say that it is not wise on part of the Chief Minister to think of the problems as faced by the people at a time when he is driven by the compulsions rather than having any real considerations for the people. |
