Salah-ud-Din seeks Al-Qaeda, Taliban support | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 14: What could turn out to be disastrous for the people of Jammu and Kashmir is that Chairman of amalgam of militant outfits has indicated to seek support from Al-Qaeda and Taliban for resolution of Kashmir dispute and directed Pakistani Prime Minister to stop building friendly terms with Narendra Modi. According to reports, chief of militant outfit 'Hizbul Mujahideen' operating in Kashmir and chairman United Jihad Council (UJC), Syed Salah-ud-Din has asked Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharief to avoid showing a 'unilateral tilt' towards his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi. Salah-ud-Din while addressing a gathering in Muzaffarabad area of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) said that Nawaz Sharif should show respect for the feelings and sacrifices of Kashmiris. He added that Nawaz Sharif's unilateral tilt towards Modi and exchange of letters and saris is hurting Kashmiris and impairing their cause. According to Pakistan media reports, the gathering in Muzaffarabad, which has been declared as capital of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir by Pakistan was held to commemorate the sacrifices of 21 Kashmiris who as per historical accounts were allegedly gunned down by the Dogra regime outside Srinagar's Central Jail in July 13, 1931. While indicting to invite Al-Qaeda and Taliban to Jammu and Kashmir, Salah-ud-Din said that 'If Al-Qaeda, Taliban or any other organisation or country extends a helping hand to the oppressed Kashmiris, we will welcome it.' Media reported that meeting was organised by the UJC, which is alliance of over a dozen of militant groups sponsored by Pakistan and operating in Jammu and Kashmir. Salah-ud-Din while directing Nawaz Sharief to shun dialogue process with India has asked Nawaz Sharif 'not to take any decision that could neutralise the sacrifices of the Kashmiris and has also asserted that being a party to the dispute, Pakistan was legally bound to materially support the long decades old struggle of Kashmiris. He also said that the Indian Army had allegedly 'let loose a reign of terror in Kashmir and 6,000 unmarked graves, daily killings, molestation of womenfolk and incidents of arson bore testimony to it and has added that Kashmir had no bondage with India, which was once again proved during Modi's recent visit to the region under the protection of huge Army contingents. While tightening screws on hundreds of separatist factions operating in Jammu and Kashmir over the years under different names and chiefs, Salah-ud-Din has ordered separatists in unison to work under one platform and without naming any faction of separatist had said that 'instead of raising assorted options and voices, the Hurriyat leadership should represent their oppressed nation with one voice.' |
