Poswal appeals both communities to maintain peace | | | Jammu, July 14: Expressing concern over the tension that erupted in Bari Brahmana over holding of annual Dangal, the Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha has appealed to the people of both the communities to maintain peace and communal harmony. In a statement issued here today, Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha state president, Eshfaq-ur-Rehman Poswal said that Gujjars are the peace loving people and have been living peacefully with their Hindu brethren since the last many-2 years. He said that Gujjars have equal respect for the culture and traditions of Hindus and other religions. "Unnecessary tension has been created by some vested interests to create a wedge between the 2 communities", Poswal said an appealed to the people of both the communities to maintain peace and communal harmony. He also cautioned the people to remain cautious against such vested interests. He said that both the communities should respect the culture and traditions of each other and solve the issues amicably. "The issue regarding holding of Dangal over a piece of land should also be resolved amicably and through talks without resorting to violence", Poswal said and appealed to the people of both the communities to sit together and find a solution to the matter. |
