KVK organizes training programme on agriculture enterprises | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, July 18: With an objective to encourage rural youth to take up agriculture as an enterprise, KrishiVigyan Kendra, Rajouri under Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu organized a Training programme for rural youths on "Propagation techniques in fruit crops for establishment of fruit nursery," in which twenty five progressive Farmers and rural youths enthusiastically participated from distant villages of Rajouri. This awareness cum training Programme was organized with association of Chief Horticulture Officer, Rajouri and was aimed at sensitizing the progressive farmers of the district about the importance of raising registered fruit plant nurseries. Dr. Vikas Tandon Programme Coordinator KVK, Rajouri and the course coordinator gave detailed presentations and practical demostrations of budding and grafting techniques in mango, citrus, apple, pear and walnut. He was of the view that some of the youth from the district may come up with establishment of a modern fruit nursery. Chief horticulture officer, Yogesh Kumar Kesar demonstrated the poly houses established for raising planting material. |
