Jammu, July 18: Infighting among warring factions of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) continues unabated as Gulam Nabi Azad loyalists are reportedly not invited in the convention of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), scheduled to be held at Sainik Colony on Saturday.
Sources informed Early Times that loyalists to JKPCC president Saif-ud-din Soz have been manning all the affairs of organizing the Party's convention, which was scheduled to be attended by party in charge to J&K, Ambika Soni, former Health and Family Welfare Minister Gulam Nabi Azad and JKPCC president Saif-ud-din Soz.
"Only the loyalists of Professor Soz have been invited in the party convention while the supporters of Azad group have deliberately been ignored by the organizers of the convention", sources said, adding that even the former Mayors and corporators of local bodies, who were close to Azad, were not invited in the convention.
Sources further revealed that few days back, a meeting of Jammu corporators was called in the JKPCC headquarters but once again the corporators, close to Azad faction were not invited in that preparatory meeting.
"We have been working for the party for the last several decades but we are not invited in the party convention, in which the party will devise a strategy to fight the ensuing elections", a Congress worker rued, adding that it seemed that Congress party has not learnt a lesson from recent poll debacle in Parliamentary elections.
"It means that Congress leaders are busy to satisfy their egos and are least bothered about unity in Congress. The tall claims of rejuvenating party by party leadership is totally hollow", he said.
Former Mayor of Jammu, Municipal Corporation (JMC) Manmohan Singh was not available for comments, while former Mayor, Narinder Singh when contacted, said that he had not received any letter or invitation letter for Party's convention.
