HC seeks report about illegal construction by hotelier at Gulmarg | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, July 18 : The state high court has asked law officer of State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) to visit Hotel Khyber Resort in Gulmarg and furnish report within one week about the alleged illegal construction by its owner. The order was passed by a division bench of Chief Justice M M Kumar and Justice Hasnain Massodi on an application regarding raising of illegal construction by the proprietors/owners of Hotel Khyber Resort. "SPCB Law Officer Mohammad Maqbool Shah, who is present in the court, has acceded to our request to personally visit Hotel Himalaya Khyber Resort and furnish a report with regard to the allegation made in the application," the court said. It also asked GDA counsel to file complete status report with regard to the allegations made in the application. Meanwhile, the court also asked the executive officer of Municipal Committee Tangmarg to ensure that no waste is dumped on the forest land at Gulmarg till further orders. "The Forest Department shall also furnish comprehensive report about the damages caused due to dumping of waste in the forest area," the court directed |
