VHP, BJP blame Govt for Baltal violence | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 18: VHP today strongly criticised the State Government for not maintaining law and order and ensuring security to Amarnath Langer people and pilgrims. Terming today's incident of Baltal as unfortunate the VHP Patron, Dr. Rama Kant Dubey and its President Leela Karan Sharma said State Govt was totally responsible for the same. He said every year hurdles are being created in the way of Amarnath pilgrims. Both Dr. Dubey and Leela Karan Sharma expressed serious concern over torching of tents belonging to Langer people at Baltal and pelting stones on the pilgrims and Langer people by hooligans. They said it was a part of pre-planned conspiracy hatched by the anti-national and anti social elements to disturb the annual Amarnath Yatra. VHP leaders, while making a dig at authorities said that they looked mute spectators to torching of tents by frenzy mob. They said it has been seen that every year efforts are being made to disturb the annual Amarnath Yatra by anti national elements and the state Government has failed to curb such elements. VHP leaders demanded registration of FIR against the hooligans who torched the tents of Langer people and pelted stones at Yatris. They also criticised the shrine Board for suspension of Yatra and said it would be fraught with serious consequences. Meanwhile Bajrang Dal activists held a protest at Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas here against torching of tents of Langer people at Baltal by frenzy mob today. The protest, which was led by BD leader Rakesh Sharma, also torched the effigy of the Government. They warned attack on pilgrims and Langer people will have serious consequences. The BJP vice president and in charge Kashmir Ramesh Arora has also criticised the state Govt for its failure in providing security to pilgrims. Arora said that had the State Govt taken pre emptive measures situation would have not gone out of control. |
