Dental surgeons hunger strike, dharna enter day-29 | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 29: Dental Surgeons Association Jammu Kashmir (DSA-JK) continued their dharna for 29th consecutive day while the hunger of female dental surgeons strike entered 17th day with Dr Tanya Gupta sitting on fast. National Conference provincial chief Devinder Singh Rana, Jugal Mahajan along with other senior NC leaders visited dharna spot at Ambphalla Jammu. The NC leaders listened to grievances of the protesting dental surgeons and assured them that they will take up the matter with Health Minister Taj Mohi-ud-din tomorrow. The dental surgeons also submitted memorandum to Rana to readdress their issues. In the late hours, unemployed dental surgeons supported by others associations took out a peaceful candle light march from Ambphalla Chowk to New Plot, during which they shouted slogans criticizing the State health policies mentioning step-motherly treatment with Dental Profession. Chairman DSA-JK Dr Pawan Singh Jasrotia said, "We will continue the protest till our demands. We will take out a mass rally on July 31 from Civil Secretariat to DC Office, Jammu." |
