State Sports Council to hold brief coaching camps at Srinagar from Aug 4

Jammu, Aug 1: Likewise last year, the State Sports Council has decided to hold introductory coaching camps in three sports disciplines of gymnastics, basketball and boxing at Indoor Complex, Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar.
The week-long camps shall be held from August four to August 12 under the guidance of Sports Council coaches from Jammu.
Concerned coaches of all the three disciplines have been told, through an order issued in this regard, to report at the venue latest by August 3.
Three gymnastics coaches, SP Singh, Krupali Singh and Manisha Gupta as also one each in the disciplines of basketball (Saktish Chopra) and boxing (Mushtaq Ahmed) shall be imparting tips to the beginners at the Bakshi Stadium.
"The Kashmir Province has lesser number of qualified coaches, so it was desired at the higher level to depute experts in certain disciplines for introductory coaching sessions. So, we have sanctioned the deputation of five such coaches for brief camps at Bakshi Stadium," disclosed Sports Officer (Jammu), Rajan Sharma.


Plantation drive organized at Janipur

Jammu, Aug 1: Bhagya Laxmi Charitable Trust today organized a plantation drive at Janipur Ward No. 37 JDA Park.
People of Janipur gathered at the venue and offered full support to the NGO.
On this occasion Munish Sharma, State Secretary (BJP) was chief guest who praised the NGO's volunteers for social cause and said that, it was the right time to think about the plantation.
Rinku Chowhan , Zonal President, BJP and Bhanu Jasrotia , District Youth President BJP promised to give every possible help for this social cause and asked the NGO to continue plantation drive for the safe and sound future.
The volunteers planted lot of trees in the Park campus and thanked the local people for their support.


27th JNC to be held from August 3

Jammu, Aug 1: Three day Kumbh of 27th Junior National Championship (JNC) of Atya Patya will be held in Jammu, from August 3 to August 5, 2014 at the grounds of Heritage GGM Science College.
This was disclosed by Dr. Vinod Bakshi, President Jammu and Kashmir Atya Patya Association. Addressing the media persons, Dr. Bakshi said that Ajay Sadhotra, Minister for Planning and Development will be the Chief Guest and torch at GGM Science College, Jammu will be lit by Dr. Mustafa Kamal.
In the gala opening, 600 players from 20 states both girls and boys will be participating, the members of the association said. Elaborating, they also said that this game is organized by the Games Federation and the players get benefit of participation in various field.

JU VC inaugurates premises of ICccR & HRM Jammu

Jammu, Aug 1: The premises of International Centre for Cross- Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM), University of Jammu, was today inaugurated by Prof. Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu was the chief guest for the function.
The ceremony was graced by Prof Deshbandhu Gupta, Dean, Faculty of Business Studies and Director CDC, Prof. Keshav Sharma, Convener, Board of Studies in Management and Controller of Examinations, University of Jammu, Prof. Pankaj Srivastava, Dean Students Welfare, Sh. R.K Zafrani, Exen University Works Department, among other guests and dignitaries. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu congratulated Prof. Neelu Rohmetra, the Founder Director, International Centre and acknowledged her efforts for developing the state of the art infrastructure to bring ICccR & HRM at par with the best B-Schools of the Country. Prof. Ishar reflected that the world has become a global market place which is not hampered by national boundaries. Prof. Neelu Rohmetra, Founder Director, ICccR & HRM, welcomed all the guests on the occasion and thanked Prof. Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu for his concerted guidance and mentorship for consolidation of the MBA: International Business programme and the International Centre. Prof. Rohmetra presented the overview of the activities, objectives and the academic programmes at International Centre.

International conference at SMVDU inaugurated

Jammu, Aug 1: The inaugural session of two day ICSSR sponsored International Conference, "Shifting Paradigms in Applied Economics and Management: Course Correction" organized by Faculty of Management, was conducted in Matrika Auditorium of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University. According to press release, Prof. D Mukhopadhyay, Dean, Faculty of Management welcomed the audience and briefed about the department and the University. Vice Chancellor, SMVDU, Prof. Sudhir K. Jain presided on the occasion as the Chief Guest. Prof. Jain, the pioneer of Intellectual Property Education in India, emphasized on the need for creativity and diligence for success and sustenance and congratulated the team behind this exercise.
Prof. Rajah Rasiah from the University of Malaya was the key note speaker who discussed the significance of Southeast Asian experience with respect to the Asian and global financial crisis. The Guest of Honor, Prof. Kuldeep Kumar from Bond University, Australia, discussed the prevalence of fraud and corruption and their impact on the performance in select cases.
Vibhakar Khajuria, Cluster Head, Jammu region, J&K Bank, one of the sponsors of the event, was also present as Special guest. The Conference evoked tremendous response with around 150 academicians and scholars from India and abroad, participating in the Conference.
The ICSSR sponsored International Conference, first by the Faculty of Management, SMVDU, strives to provide a cross platform for exchange of ideas involving the best and the most accomplished in the business of Economics and Management, especially in the present environment of massive economic, political and social upheaval. Through this conference, various issues concerning management practices and contemporary economic issues shall be raised and it would hopefully arrive at a prudent and logical conclusion which policy makers could use as guiding principles at various levels of planning and decision making. The Conference will consist of simultaneous sessions, keeping in view the massive response the event has evoked, spread over two days.
Dr. Kakali Majumdar, Convener, briefed guests and delegates, about details and schedule for the two days event. Finally, vote of thanks was presented by Pabitra Kumar Jena, Organizing secretary of the conference.



JSS organizes slogan writing, poster making contest

Jammu, Aug 1: Jammu Sanskriti School (JSS) organized slogan writing and poster making competition for Class III-VIII with an aim to explore the talent of students. During the contest the participants exhibited their talent and their love for nature which creates healthy atmosphere on planet earth.
"The winners of the competition included Jagdeep Singh, Omkar from Class III, Vipul and Kartik of Class IV Sushant and Sarah of Class-V, Akansha Sharma and Sujal Gupta of Class-VI, Riya Sharma and Pratibha of Class VII, Shalini Khajuria and Raghav Verma of Class VIII first and second respectively," the spokesperson of school stated.
In her address Vice Chairperson cum Principal Mrs Rohini Aima appreciated the participants for portraying their views exceptionally on the canvass and also presented prizes besides certificates of participation to the winners.


Nitish nominated as joint secretary JKSSBA

Jammu, Aug 1: J&K Sports Speed Ball Association (JKSSBA) has Nominated Nitish Mahajan son of Vinod Mahajan as Joint Secretary of the association.
According to press release, the nomination of Nitish has been done keeping in view strengthening the Sports activities. Nitish Mahajan was presently a member of Divisional Rail User Consultative Committee (DRUCC) of Ferozpur Division (Northern Railway) and Prominent Youth Congress Leader of Jammu & Kashmir State.
