Shah proposed visit to Kathua marred with controversies | BJP leaders united to oppose interference of outsiders in party | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 1: Leaders of the all groups of faction ridden BJP are united to scuttle any move by the outsiders to hijack the party. BJP leaders have decided to clearly tell the high command that ignoring dedicated leaders at the cost of outsiders would not be tolerated. It was result of the show of unity by these leaders entry of a "outspoken" journalist and a pro-claimed king maker, who runs a so-called NGO, was cancelled by the high command. And most important of all the "real" BJP leaders have clearly told the high command that it would send a wrong message if tour programme of newly appointed national president of party, Amit Shah would be arranged without taking local unit into confidence. These leaders told the high command that maiden visit of Amit Shah in Jammu and Kashmir should be finalized by the state not by an individual who wants to join the party after resigning from the party. Chowdhary Lal Singh had also told his supporters that he had met with Amit Shah and taken his consent to attend a rally at Kathua on August 12. State unit of BJP leaders were surprised when they were informed through others that Amit Shah is visiting Kathua on August 12. They immediately brought this matter to the notice of the high-command and made it clear that first visit of Amit Shah to the state should not be marred with controversies. Credible sources in the BJP said that state unit has taken serious note of the attitude of Chowdhary Lal Singh and warned that giving importance to such leaders at the cost of organisation would be given very wrong message among cadre. "Chances of Amit Shah to visit Kathua on August 12 is looking remote due to stand taken by local BJP leaders," credible sources said and disclosed that entry of a journalist and social activist was also cancelled due to opposition by the state unit. Even before joining the party, the duo, known for changing loyalties, are discussing alliance modalities on behalf of BJP with other parties. |
