Jammu, Aug 1 The members of Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) community have demanded immediate withdrawal of government Circular aimed at 'to dilute reservation in promotion of the employees of these categories" Addressing a press conference here today, the members of Pro-Reservation India front (J&K) said that the government order has challenged authority of the Supreme democratic body . Parliament by saying that its amendments does not extend to J&K. The members demanded immediate withdrawal of the Circular and asserted that the government must come out with quantifiable date of reservation provided to SC/ST in last 50 years both at direct entry and promotion level in each and every cadre of the state services. The press conference was addressed by Pritam Ditta, Mohinder Bhagat, Raj Kumar, Bodh Raj, Dr Rajpal Hans, Bansi Lal, Madan Lal, Banarsi Dass, Jagdish Behalwan, Rattan Lal and Janakr Raj. |
