Jammu, Aug 1: RK Chadha, President Citizens Forum and former treasurer J&K PDP has sharply criticized the state government for inordinate delay in undertaking and completing ruler road projects worth Rs 2715 Crore, under PMGSY Yojna. He described this dereliction of the corrupt ministers and officers in the concerned department as a criminal negligence on their part. The funds allotted under the PMGSY projects worth 2715 Crore were not utilized by the authorities, despite the roads in many parts of Jammu region, particularly in the hilly areas in depleted condition, resulting to frequent road accidents taking heavy toll of human life.While as per the report, the projects under the scheme in Kashmir valley have been completed the rural road projects in Jammu division have remained neglected, RK Chadha has added, the Central Ministry for Rural Development is reported to have castigated the state government for delaying these projects and has taken serious view of matter, resulting in blockade of funding for the projects in future as well. Chadha has stated that while no separate minister for Rural development was appointed by Chief Minister Gulam Nabi Azad during his tenure for two years, then the ministers appointed for the department changed hands three times, resulting in the projects being ignored. |
