Jammu, Sept 1: To commemorate 65th Van Mahotsav, a plantation drive organized by Rotary Club Jammu Tawi at Eye Hospital at Village Raya. The drive was held under the leadership of president Rotary Club Jammu Rtn Vinay Kapoor in which other members participated. The programme began with the plantation drive where members of the club planted the sapling of tress of different varieties. Addressing the gathering, Rtn Vinay Kapoor said that to minimise the increasing effects of global warming, the best and easy way is to growing more and more plants. In this regard there is need for more awareness and plantation drives to spread the message of its importance for the survival of humankind''. He further informed the members of club that more plantation drives would be organised in future. Among others present included Rtn Subash Gandotra, Rtn Pardeep Jain, Rtn Sunil Jain, Rtn Dr Dushyant, Rtn Raman Sherpuri, Rtn Jatinder Gandok, Rtn Jaswant Rai, Rtn Vijay Sharma, Rtn BR Chandan, Rtn Deepak, Rtn VK Mehra and the priest of temple. During the drive more than 100 saplings were planted by the members of club. |
