Jammu, Sept 1: Lambasting Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah led state coalition government PDP candidatte for Jammu East Bharat Choudhary today said that governance deficit main reason of increasing alienation of people of state. Addressing a gathering at Sabzi Mandi, here on Monday, Choudhary called upon the youth to channelise their energy in a positive way so that their participation can help in development and prosperity of State. He cautioned them not to deviate or carried away by the fake assurances, slogans by political parties having sole agenda of coming to power by making tall promises and implementing none. Expressing satisfaction over larger youth participation in the party affairs, Choudhary said this will galvanize PDP to meet the challenges of future with much more confidence and vigour.He stressed the crucial need of maintaining discipline, forging unity and foiling the attempts of opponents who want to divide the people of state on communal and regional lines. "Democracy is the best way to address aspirations to the people and to involve people in the governance. He observed that formation of PDP on July 28, 1999 was turning point in the history of J&K because party has emerged as credible and real voice of the people, he added. Pointing towards rampant corruption in the State, he observed that governance deficit was the main reason of increasing alienation of the people. "Corruption has crossed all limits due to lack of transparency and accountability in the Government", he said and pointed out the developmental projects started during PDP led regime were hanging in balance due to mis-goverance of the present regime. Meanwhile, impressed by policies and programmes of PDP, sequence of joining more and more people continued on Monday also when several youths belonging to different political parties joined PDP in presence of party candidate for Jammu east, Bharat Choudhary at Sabzi Mandi in a function organized by youth leaders Vinod Mahajan and Sachin Sharma. Those who joined PDP include Gagan Singh, Varen , Amit Sharma, Anoop Gupta, Sahil, Rahul, Rajat , Vishu, Mandeep Singh, Tanveer Singh, Cheekh, Sushil Choudhary beside others. |
