High alert sounded to hold medical camps

Jammu, Sept 11: An emergency meeting was held under the chairmanship of Director Health Services Jammu Dr Baljeet Pathania, comprising of CMO Jammu, CMO Samba and All Block Medical Officers of Jammu and Samba District today.
Instructions were passed on to be on high alert and hold medical camps in flood/ incessant rain affected areas.
CMO Jammu Dr Robinder Khajuria appraised Director Health Services Jammu that due to floods, affected areas have no road connectivity hence it has become difficult for the patients to reach their health centres.
The Block Medical Officers of Jammu district have made Mobile Medical Units which are covering at least 5 villages per day and providing medical relief free of cost to the patients.
Some of the medical teams have gone on foot and reached every area possible. Side by side they have distributed chlorine tablets and other medicines and have directed their malaria staff for spraying in the areas where water logging still persists.
