Kashmiri Truck drivers stranded at Lakhanpur appreciate efforts of Modi | | | Kathua, Sept 11: Hoping for relief a deputation of truck drivers stranded at Lakhanpur apprised DDC Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary regarding their hardships and appeal administration for help. Leading the deputation Mohammad Yusuf apprised DDC that there are sixty-trucks stranded at Lakhanpur. From the last five-days, they are suffering for food, as they are having no money left for purchasing food material. Hence, drivers demand five-Kilogram rice and some sugar for their survival. After listening to the problems of truck drivers, DDC directed Tehsildar Jitender Mishra and TSO Sanjeevan Singh to handle the situation. Following which the concerning officers went to Lakhanpur with the food material and distributed 5-Kilogram rice and 1-kilogram sugar to each person. During this, the drivers expressing their views alleged state government for not providing immediate help and rescue to the persons stranded in floods at Srinagar. Driver Mohammad Yusuf said as far as relief of their relatives in Srinagar concerns it is only Union Government that is initiating help to Kashmiri people. Appreciating the role of Prime Minister Nariendera Modi, he said in his life history he has seen the first leader who had came to see the calamity situations immediately. He extolling the role of army, air force, navy, paramilitary and State police said that in this crucial hour of need they had played a historical role in rescue and rehabilitation operation. Another truck driver, Farooq Ahmed lauding the efforts of Prime Minister, Nariender Modi said that prompt action taken by the Prime Minister himself to access the flood situation, loss of lives and property is a recommendable job. He also appreciated the role on Indian Army and other forces, which are carrying out relief operation in the worst situations."There are some people who have always opposed the Indian army on one pretext or the other and demanded its ouster from the State only to pursue anti-social agenda, now the grave performance of the army has shown in rescue operation especially in Valley have silenced all those low thinking peoples and stone-palters", he added.He also demanded maintaining transparency in disbursement of relief to the genuine and affected victims of the havoc and for the purpose. "Central Government should constitute teams for proper verification for identifying the genuine victims as the Kashmiri people had lost faith in Kashmiri leaders", he added. |
