Early Times Report

Rajouri, Sept 11: Alleging that it seems that the state government has focused its all attention towards rescue operations in Kashmir valley showing its callous approach to other flood affected areas of state, the Rajouri people today said that government has forgotten the flood and land sliding victims in Rajouri and Poonch districts those who have been looking for immediate help.
Locals alleged that there are hapless flood and land slide victims in remote areas like Gunda Khawas, Kotrnak, Budhal, Triyath, Bhambhir Mughlan, Naka, PanjgrainThudi, Fatehpur, Dodasan etc and especially in the Dhoks in Peer Panjal Mountain ranges who are still waiting for response from government but have been left on the mercy of Almighty.
As per some officials who preferred anonymity out of 383 villages in Rajouri district atleast 368 were affected and till today the quantum of losses occurred during flash flood furry have touched Rs158 crores.
Lambasting the present regime, Ashok Sharma former MLA , Kalakot said that the State government as well as district administration has fully ignored the people of Kalakot constituency where about 22 families in Bainal, Simbalgala, Badgai, Mehrot, Bharwari, Padhrani Androla and at many other places taking shelters in school buildings and in the tents provided by the army units. Sharma added that tehsildars have been directed to assess the losses on spot and the officials only adding those houses which collapsed fully. "Partially damaged or houses filled with mud, have not been added, he alleged.
"The process is so complicated that the victim has to approach the police , reports from Sarpances , Lamberdars, 5 photos of the damaged property etc. Those who need immediate relief first have to spend lot of time to collect these records and only then their applications (relief forms) shall be entertained. The process is like attending court dates" said Ashok Sharma and flayed the administration".
"No relief has been provided till 6;00 pm today to these people and many of them have been spending nights in the open, another local lamented and added that like army which has provided tents, K-oil to people in distress at Androla and Beinala, the district administration must reach to these people with necessary help.
Meantime Shamsher Singh, BJP leader from Gunda said that 4 houses at Barasi Mora in Keri panchyat have fully damaged and about 20 other families have shifted either at Keri or Gata. "Till now no help from district administration has reached to these families" said Shamsher Singh.
Amid allegations from political leaders, the local village head Muzzafar Hussain , sarpanch Triath in Kalakot hummed the similar tunes and said that 72 members of few families have been taking refuse in the school building but despite message to the concerned tehsildar no relief/help have reached them.
