Amid stone pelting, attacks in valley, Army sets up "Cook House" for flood victims | | | Udhampur, Sept 11: Setting unique example of humanity despite being facing reported stone pelting and assaults in inundated valley from agitated locals, the Indian Army carrying its tradition of 'oneness and amity' irrespective to caste and religion has established a round the clock unique and exclusive Cook House to prepare fresh food for the flood victims in the Kashmir valley A defence spokesperson told news agency, "Indian army stationed at Northern Command in Udhampur has established a round the clock unique and exclusive Cook House where fresh food is prepared for the flood victims in the Kashmir valley. "The food packets are being packed individually and meant to last over 72 hours," he said while adding, "food for approximately 3000 - 4000 people on a daily basis is being prepared and dispatched to Srinagar via Army and Air Force helicopters and about 10,000 packets have been air lifted so far to valley to be air dropped. |
