Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 11: Expressing concern over loss of lives and property in valley due to flash floods, National Secular Forum (NSF) has questioned the absence of Hurriyat Conference leaders, who have gone missing in the hour of catastrophe in Kashmir valley, when entire country has been engaged to ensure safety of Kashmiris.
Addressing media persons, NSF President Sukhdev Singh said that the same Army, which has been abused by separatist Kashmiris, along with teams of NDRF has been responding the situation to save all the people, by risking their own lives. "Why Hurriyat and other separatist leaders are silent and are missing from whole scene when the gullible masses are waiting for help", NSF President said and added that in the tragic Pulwama incident nine army jawans were washed away while launching a rescue operation for the trapped locals, was a testimony to the gallant and selfless service that Army assisted by paramilitary forces, NDRF and state police have been rendering to rise to the challenges of unprecedented tragedy. Singh further said that the other most striking feature of the tragedy was the stoic silence maintained by the 'separatists', the 'self proclaimed messiahs' of Kashmiri people over the humane approach of the Army personnel against whom these separatists spared no opportunity to spit venom. "The Defence personal were risking their own lives to rescue the people from heavily flooded areas, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, heading 'Hardliner' Hurriyat Conference and the 'Moderate' faction of the same outfit led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq or for that matter the other separatist leaders like Shabbir Shah, Yasin Malik have suddenly gone into oblivion as they are not making any appeals to the innocent Kashmiri people's not to take any help from Army, which they often do whenever the situation suits them" said NSF president. They appealed all the citizens of India to give donation and helped the needy people of Jammu and Kashmir, so that the innocent Kashmiri masses would realize that the separatists were only opportunist elements.
"The separatists should also learn a lesson from the situation that it is only the unity of masses, which can save the lives from a tragedy", Singh concluded.
Among those who were present in the press-conference included, Qayoom Malik University Unit President, Ajaz Shah, Papinder Singh, Vikram Madhyal, PP Singh, Anees Charak, Zulfi, and Amit Sanotra.
