Jammu, Sept 17: Office of the Commissioner of Income Tax, J&K, Jammu celebrated Hindi fortnight from Sept 1 -15 and the valedictory occasion was held on Tuesday. Padam Shri Dr Ved Kumari Ghai and Dr Parmeshwari Sharma, HOD, Hindi Department, Jammu University marked their presence as special invitees. In her address, Padam Shri Dr Ved Kumari Ghai shared her experiences with the officials of the Income Tax Department and highlighted the need of one language and one script of a country for its all round development and she advocated that Hindi should be given position of National language. Dr Parmeshwari Sharma in her speech said in this era of globalisation through Hindi is having numerous challenges but this language is ready to except them and it in present times, is becoming means to earning too. That's why so many universities in the world teach Hindi, she added. Both the dignitaries congratulate the Income Tax Department for implementing Official Language Policy of Govt. of India. Earlier A K Thatai, Commissioner of Income Tax, J&K, Jammu emphasised on the need to do work in Hindi without any hesitation. Later prizes were given away to the officials who performed excellently in the competitions held during the fortnight and during the year to promote Hindi. Smt Mini Chandran U, Dy Commissioner of Income Tax, (HQ) read out a message of Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (NWR), Chandigarh on Hindu Diwas. Smt Rajni Sharma, Sr Hindi Translator and Inder Sain Chawla, Income Tax Inspector anchored the programme while Rohit Mehra, Joint Commissioner of Income Tax presented vote of thanks. |
