Telangana, 8 Nov: Unknown hackers from Pakistan have reportedly hacked 22 Indian government websites and posted content alleging atrocities by the Indian Army in Kashmir, prompting the National Informatics Centre (NIC) to launch a time bound probe. Media reports said that 22 Indian government websites have been hacked in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. Unknown hackers according to police from Pakistan have posted content on these portals displaying alleged atrocities in Kashmir by Indian Army. Media reports quoting the officials of Telangana Information Technology Association said that they lodged a complaint with cyber crime police alleging that 22 government websites were hacked by unknown Pakistan cyber Hackers. According to the hackers' Facebook page, they broke into 22 websites. On the defaced web sites, the hackers, who identified themselves as `1337 & r00x!- Team MaDLeeTs' greeted the Government of India and then leveled several allegations against the Indian Army in Kashmir pertaining to civil rights violations. Reports said that State Information Centre has started a probe and has been taking measures to ensure the security of government websites in India. |
