Pak violates ceasefire in Uri; Girl, jawan killed | | | Early Times Report
Uri, Nov 8 : A few days ahead of the first pahse of polling in Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan army violated cease fire in north Kashmir's Uri sector on Saturday. The unprovoked firing from the side led to the killing of a 20-year old girl and an Army jawan. The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Infantry DivisoinBaramulla,AnilChohan while talking to Early Times said, "Pakistan troops fired heavy mortar shells in Kamalkote sector on the Line of Control (LOC) this evening." The GOC said, "Pakistani troops carried out heavy mortar shelling on our posts from 7: 15 pm till 9:10 pm without any provocation." He said that one Army soldier was also injured in the firing. "The injured jawan was brought down probably he is no more," he added. The GOC identified the deceased girl as GulshanBano. Sources said that the shells fired by Pakistan Army landed in the house of GhulamBhatti injuring his 20-year-old daughter GulshanaBano. She was moved to the hospital in Uri town where she succumbed to her injuries. |
