`Wani destined to lose, Rana on slippery wicket' | NC likely to suffer worst ever defeat | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 18: The National Conference is likely to suffer its worst ever historic defeat in the Assembly elections. The most shocking likely outcome is the probable defeat of the trusted confidants of the Chief Minister- Devender Rana and Nasir Aslam Wani. According to reports and intelligence agencies, Wani is likely to lose by a considerable margin and even Rana is on a very sticky wicket. Even though, he had invested heavily on the Nagrota constituency. Reports suggest that CM himself is not secure and there is a strong possibility that results could go in the direction of Ganderbal results, from where he had lost once and had shifted his constituency from there. "The probable defeat of these figures could sum up what went wrong for the party," said a senior NC leader, wishing not to be named. Omar along with his these two trusted lieutenants governed the state and also controlled the party. Political observers believe, it's because of this single act, Omar, who himself was never connected with the ground, lost all the possibilities of having ear to the ground. "Omar acted as is if the State was his personal property and he was rightfully born to be its Maharaja whole life, little realising it was democracy and India not a banana-republic," said a the senior NC minister. The NC could have fared much better than the 2008 elections as peoples anger was against PDP and BJP but it lost the political plot right from the day one. Omar just for the chair of the CM not only succumbed to the wishes and diktats of the Congress but he also allowed every cabinet minister to have free hand in corruption. "The CM was only interested in his chair and nothing else. He spent his entire six years either being on TV studios or wearing flashy clothes. Little realising that he is the prime servant of the people and needs to be more concerned about them then his whims and fancies," said the minister. |
