Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 19 : Flouting all the guidelines enshrined in the Model Code of Conduct by the Election Commission of India, Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) in the current Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir has made the mockery of the democracy said Harsh Dev Singh Chairman of Jammu Kashmir National Panther Party. According to press release, blatantly rebuking the election campaign held by the BJP, he said that the fundamental rights of the other political parties had been grossly violated because of the unnecessary restrictions imposed on other parties and the chaos created during several public meetings of the Prime Minister Narender Modi and his cabinet colleagues. He added that the crores of rupees were spent for providing security covers and for the decoration of political platform at the expense of the State exchequer. Moreover, the frequent aerial visits by the Prime Minister and other central Ministers using chartered helicopters had added to the political chaos and disturbance by imposing undeclared curfew like situation, thus denying the right of election campaign to all other political parties except the BJP and causing public inconvenience including massive traffic jams.
Harsh lamented that the BJP has been misusing the power brazenly to realize their farcical and absurd mission by befooling and hoodwinking the electorate in the ongoing elections. He added that dozens of crores have been spent at each constituency by the Saffron party to influence the voters by coercion. Harsh Dev criticized that the BJP has been using the State and the Central machinery including the MP's , Bollywood stars and the Union ministers for disseminating false propaganda through mere rhetorics and rants to lure the voters.
Harsh asked how far election free and fair is and how would sincere and honest citizen contest elections?
He also questioned the role of the independent observers and the Election Commission of India who were silent spectators to this ugly show of wealth which has raised serious questions marks over the credibility of Elections process.
