BJP `bending' irks RSS | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 19: The RSS is not happy with the BJP in giving too much space to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the government formation. The Sangh leadership has reportedly told the BJP leadership that while it will give time for them to negotiate with the PDP, but, will have the last word on the draft of the common minimum programme. According to the sources, the Sangh has reportedly told the BJP leadership by not taking stand on issue like Art 370 and AFSPA, which are the core ideological issues for the party, is giving space to sub-nationalism in the Kashmir valley. "The feeling perceived and projected of sub-nationalism in the valley is the root cause of the problems. The supposedly mainstream parties are on this job and they are aided by separatists and Pakistan. The BJP emerged as a political force only because it had taken on and confronted these issues head on but now by going slow on , it's sending a message that is contradictory to its ideological stand and it can't be accepted," said a senior RSS functionary, wishing not to be named. It's because of this reason that BJP president Amit Shah had called on the senior functionaries of the Sangh in the N Delhi today. The party president had detailed discussion on the proposed government formation and the issues to be included in the common minimum programme. ""The Sangh has worked hard to get the party 25 seats. The BJP alone can't take credit for it. So if we are not satisfied with the CMP we can either ask for its redrafting or can ask party not to go with the PDP," said the RSS leader "How can only PDP dictate terms and say that BJP is free to go to anyone else if it doesn't agree to its term. We can also tell the PDP that if you don't agree to our terms than you too are free to go and join NC or the Congress. Let the PDP do so and it will help us politically as it can be projected that Kashmir based leadership is using communal cards against the Hindus of the Jammu region. It will put the PDP and Kashmir based leaders in the bad light, which they can ill afford," said the leader. |
