Police said during preliminary investigations, it was found that the accused had developed an illicit relationship with an 18 year old girl (name with held) on pretext of marriage and exploited her sexually since nine months ago. "The rape victim today delivered a baby in Sub District Hospital (SDH) Kreeri, police said, adding, " the accused has been an local preachers (imam) in Fresthar village for last six years."
Police said that a case FIR no 13/2015 u/s 376 and 506 stands registered against accused at police station Kreeri, and further investigations are on. Meanwhile Kreeri locals and its adjoining areas have hailed the prompt police especially from SDPO Pattan and SHO Kreeri.
Meanwhile a group of students while talking to early times told that evil practice of cheating and rape by some moles within religious preachers has become a frequent these days. Citing example of one Gulzar Pir, Faith healer, from Central Kashmir's Budgam district who was arrested by police on charges of rape in May 2013, they said that people yet have not taken a lesson from that very incident.
They said in fact there are only few incidents come to light otherwise many such incidents remain unnoticed as family members of victims do not want share due to fear humiliation and even threatening/black mailing by such evil elements.
