JAMMU, Feb 21: The Post Graduate (PG) Departments of University of Jammu completely dominated the three-day 41st Inter-College Athletics meet taking away overall championship trophies in both men and women sections on the campus grounds, here today.
Besides the title trophies, the PG women, Suman Lata and Neeru Manhas were declared best athletes considering their triumph in the competition.
Earlier, Ankit Sharma of Government Degree College (GDC) Billawar emerged fastest athlete winning 100 meters gold. Sunny Kumar of Dogra Degree College bagged silver while third place went to Vinay Manhas of PG Departments.
Controller of Examination, JU and Dean, The Business School, Prof Keshav Sharma was chief guest, who gave away the winners and runners-up trophies. He also presented title trophies of other team events of the annual inter-college competitions in a well attended function this afternoon. Retired Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of J&K Police, Vijay Singh Sambyal was special guest.
Earlier, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, Prof. Dhian Singh Bhau welcomed the chief guest and other distinguished gathering amidst brief report of the event.
The competition supervised by the technical penal comprising Chamail Singh, Gurbachan Singh, Narinder Sharma, Vikram Jamwal and Gourav Sharma under the supervision of Nirmal Singh and Harsimran Singh.
