| People lock Govt school at Androot | | | Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Feb 21: Panchayat member and residents of village Androot under the jurisdiction of Rajouri Education Zone on Friday locked the middle school at Nowgran after it was found locked till 11.30 am on Friday.
Today a deputation of the parents of the students and panchayat members reportedly met Saleem Malik, Additional DC and apprised him that despite the appointment of three teachers in the school, it most of the times remain closes or the teachers open it as per their own convenience. Reliable sources in the education department said that the department had already received several complaints about the unauthorized absence from duty of the teachers of this school but no action has been taken by the concerned officials till date.
Sources added that the teachers appointed in the school , identified as Mustaq Hussain, Sazia Mushtaq and Abdul Rehaman have reached an arrangement according to which one attends the school daily while the two remain on unauthorized leave.
On Friday when the particular teacher failed to reach the school till 11.30 am people locked the school. On getting this information, teachers rushed to the school and reportedly after breaking the lock entered the school, said a reliable source. The matter was brought to the notice of ADC today by the inhabitants of the area who assured them an inquiry into the matter.
Suresh Kumar, District Planning Officer (education) said that ADC has not yet sent any direction for inquiry. |
