Jammu, Feb 21: The NABARD Consultancy Services (NABCONS) organised a day Capacity building programme on comodity trading for the benefits of farmers at Bhajwal in Sunderbani block, district Rajouri. According to press release, the programme was organised by Des Raj, district development manager, NABARD, Rajouri representative NABCONS, Rajouri andPoonch. Des Raj informed that the capacity building programme for farmers is organised by NABCONS on behalf of Forward Merket Commission, Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs, Government of India. He informed that the objective of organising the capacity building programme for the farmers on forward markets is to create awareness commodity trading in future markets. The farmers were explained, how to become a member of comodity exchanges. Dr. Pawan Kumar Sharma, Subject Matter Specialist, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, expert in forward markets explained the farmers benefits of comodity trading in future markets to the farmers. The participants were informed that commodity future market exchange provide price information at the door steps, increase bargaining power, higher prices due to gradation and standardisation, trade and payment guarantee with no counter party and quality risks. The farmers were explained that by trading in commodity future market, they are able to lock-in-price output much before the harvest and are able to earn an assured level of income. Among others who were attended the programme included Dr. Vinod Gupta, Dr. Arvid Isher, RS Jamwal and others. |
