Jammu, Feb 24: A large number of government employees under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Co-ordination Committee of Trade Unions (JKCCTU) today held protest throughout the State in favour of their demands. They urged upon the government to withdraw the National Pension Act, Ensure Regularisation and Wage Policy for all temporary workers, releasing of two installments of pending DA, Merger of 50% DA into basic pay, implementation of SRO-149, removal of pay anomalous, filling of all vacancies through permanent appointments, implementation of Labour Laws etc. The leaders also submitted the memorandum of demands to the concerned Deputy Commissioners throughout the State. General Secretary JKCCTU, Gurmeet Singh, while addressing the protesters, criticized the anti-working class policies of Central and State Governments. "Both governments are hell-bent on snatching the hard earned rights of employees like pension and creating Job insecurity by resorting to outsourcing, contract and casual system to benefit the rich people," Gurmeet said and demanded the withdrawal of privatisation of pension scheme, ensuring of minimum wage of RS 1,000 per month to all casual, contract, Aganwadi, ASHA and other temporary employees and formulate immediate regularisation policies. He also warned the State Government to stop the un-bundling and privatisation move of power sector in the State otherwise the whole Trade Union movement will launch struggle against this anti-people and anti-employees policies. The rally was also addressed by Jasbir Singh, Ram Kumar Sharma, Rukhsana, Surinder Sharma, Mukhtiar Ahmed, Satpal Singh, Ajay Bahadhar Singh, Thodu Ram, Gopal Chowdary and Arvinder Singh. |
