Red Cross Meeting held

Baramulla, Feb 24 : A meeting of Officers of various departments held under the Chairman-ship of Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla Talat Parvez today to review the Red Cross Society achievements during the current fiscal. The meeting was informed that the committee received an income of Rs.2012491 from various educational institutes, volunteers and donors during the said period. It was decided that in order to generate its income, an awareness campaign would be lunched in various colleges and schools Trade centres and other donators of the district and the general public would be requested for liberal donation towards District Red Cross Society. This was told in the meeting that two fair price shops of medicine were established at Baramulla and Sopore by the society. The meeting was attended by SSP Baramulla, SSP Sopore, JDP, SDM's and other officers of the District. This was stated that fire victims, handicapped persons destitute and other deserving have been provided a financial assistance by District Red cross society Baramulla during period so far. Besides this 10 ten 419 blanket and 9 Tarpaulin other goods were also distributed among them during the period.
On the occasion the DC stressed liberal donation and also organized blood donation camps and awareness camps in the district.
