20 pouches of illicit liquor recovered, one held

Udhampur, Feb 24: Police claimed to have arrested one bootlegger alongwith twenty pouches of illegal liquor today during a nakk checking in area under the jurisdiction of Police Station Manwal in District Udhampur.
Police spokesperson said that the accused has been identified namely as one Sham Lal of Jindrah.
"Based on a reliable sources, a Police Party of Police Post Manwal led by Sub inspector (SI) Ashok Sharma conducted the raid and caught one Sham Lal son of Chuni Lal of Jindrah while he was selling the liquor illegally and recovered 20 pouches of liqour from his possession," police said .
"The accused was arrested on spot and a case under Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Jajher Kotli while further investigation is on, police said.
