JAMMU, Feb 24: Organised by the Jammu Police under Civic Action Programme, the Jammu City Twenty20 Cricket Cup shall start from tomorrow at Parade Ground, here. In all, 12 top teams of the state shall compete for the top honours in this tournament. This tournament is being organized under the supervision of SDPO City, Perbeet Singh Parihar with the slogan 'Play for Peace with J&K Police'. As per a handout issued here today, the competition shall be declared open by Superintendent of Police City, SK Chouhan who has consented to be the chief guest in the inauguration function. In the opening day matches, Jammu Zimkhana shall take on Oriental Cricket Club at 9.45 am while Khalsa Club shall lock horns against Guru Nanak Cricket Club at 1 pm. Other participating teams includes RCC, K C Sports Club, Jammu Eleven Star, Jammu Police XI, Tanishta Club, Jammu Tawi Cricket XI ,Trikuta Club and JKP XI. The organizing committee of the tournament included SK Chouhan (SP City), Perbeet Singh Parihar (SDPO City), KK Gupta (SHO City), Rahul Mahajan (Incharge Police Post Parade) and Rajesh Gill (Chief Prosecuting Officer and coordinator for the event). The penal of officials comprises Rajesh Dhar, RP Singh, Sunil Sambyal, Nitu Khokher, Sandeep Manchanda, Suhail Yusuf and Vinod kandyara. Mahaveer Health Club inaugurated at Pouni Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 24: President of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma today inaugurated Mahaveer Health Club at Pouni in district Reasi. General secretary of the Association, Bansi Lal Tidyal and chairman technical committee, Mulk Raj Sharma were guests of honour. Speaking on the occasion, Shiv Kumar appreciated the initiative of retired Captain, Jagdish Raj Sharma for starting a venture with an aim to serve the rural youth. He said that the gym would help local wrestlers in practice sessions. Later, coach of the gym, Sunil Sharma highlighted the features with a promise to serve the local youth. Among others present were Jagdish Raj Sharma, Devinder Abrol, Anil Kumar, Kamal Dubey, Rajesh Kumar, Lehar Singh, Devinder Dutt Sharma, Shaskhi and Meenaksh Sharma. JAMMU, Feb 24: The MBS Simbal Camp today reached the semifinals of the ongoing sub-junior boys' hockey championship, organised by Hockey J&K at K K Hakhu Stadium, here. In the quarterfinals, MBS Simbal defeated Shaheed Bhagat Singh Club 4-1. Prabhjot Singh (6th), Gurkeerat Singh (20th), Mandeep Singh (35th) and Gaganpreet Singh (45th) netted the ball from winning MBS Club. From Shaheed Bhagat Singh Club, Sanamjit Singh was the lone scorer, who sounded the board in the 36th minute to reduce the margin. Today's match was officiated by the technical penal comprising Amarjit Singh, Manjeet Singh, Joginder Singh, Jagjit Singh, Satbir Singh, Karanjit Singh and GS Bakshi. |
