jammu, Mar 18: Inspector General of Police (Traffic) J.P Singh who assumed charge here on Wednesday passed stern directions to his subordinates to go tough on the traffic violators to streamline the traffic chaos in city roads and along the National Highway. He also informed that one way traffic from Jammu to Srinagar shall remain open from4:30 am to 8.00am for light motor vehicles only. Meanwhile in a bid to regulate traffic on national highway after its closure due to landslides, IGP Traffic JP Singh said that the traffic for one way from Jammu to Srinagar to remain open from 4:30 am to 8 am "During this period, the light motor vehicles would be allowed to resume their journey, he added. IGP JP Singh who caired a meeting here today to take stock of the traffic scenario asked his officials to strictly enforce the law and exhorted them to strictly enforce the traffic regulations in the city and booked the violators. "The common offenses including jumping of traffic lights, wrong and idle parking, over loading, over speeding, driving two wheelers without crash helmet besides others and to curb such type of violations, heavy penalty to be imposed on violators, he added. |
