Avinash Azad Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 18: With government ordering termination of all the employees who were granted re-employment by various government departments, the services of some senior officials including Registrar, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) Katra is all set to be axed. Sources told Early Times that there are some blue eyed persons enjoying re-employment at SMVDU, Katra, but the decision taken by the Chief Minister is appreciable, would be beneficial for other institutions like SMVDU. "Ajay Khajuria retired as director agriculture from J&K department, is holding the position of registrar in the varsity since mid February 2014, Rohit K Khajuria retired Chief Account Officer (CAO) from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Katra after his retirement in 2013, was re-employed by the university authorities as Financial Officer, Prof V Verma who had retired from his service in same university, is also enjoying re-employment soon after his retirement", sources said, alleging that these people were re-employed in violation of laid norms for re-employment. They further said that the present vice chancellor had also given five years extension to him trust worthy lieutenant. "Tainted Section Officer (Legal) who has 'allegedly' fake LLB Degree and matter is under investigation, has managed five years extension in his service. The official was on deputation from J&K Mineral and his term had expired on June 30, 2014, but due known reasons the Vice Chancellor Prof S K Jain has extended the contract for another five years", they said. "The chief minister had issued these directions to restore the credibility of the administration so that it works in a fair and transparent manner. The decision taken by the government, is widely appreciable", he maintained. According to government order number 384-GAD of 2015, dated 17-03-2015, all the re-employment orders issued by various Government Departments are revoked with immediate effect, all the engagements, arrangements made by the different departments, public sector undertakings, boards, autonomous bodies under any scheme against sanctioned posts without any selection procedure, even on contractual basis, shall cease to exist with immediate effect. When contacted, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU Prof S K Jain said that he was not aware about any such order. "I'm out of station due to health problem, so can't comment, since I' m not aware about such order", he added. |
