SRINAGAR, Mar 18: A day after Chief Minister, Mufti Muhammad Syed ordered termination of re-employed employees, the government today said that all illegal recruitments and building permissions granted in the Department of Urban Local Bodies (DULB) without following procedures will also be cancelled and made public.
Minister of state for Urban Local Bodies, Industries and Commerce, Power Development and Housing, Muhammad Ashraf Mir while hailing Chief Minister's decision said that his government will also terminate all the illegal recruitments made by officials of the Municipal Committees over the years and will also cancel fake building permissions.
"I am going to ask for a list of all the illegal recruitments made by officials in Municipal Committees over the years across Kashmir. We will thoroughly investigate the nature of recruitments and promotions given to people by Executive officers, and we will also check the procedures followed by officials in allotting building permissions for lease etc," added the minister.
He also said that he will also check the methodology employed by officials to firstly recruit people on casual bases and then within few years of time without following any set procedure regularize all such people in their Municipal Committees.
Pertinently according to sources thousands of illegal recruitments in Municipal committees across Kashmir including in Srinagar, Ganderbal, Shopian, Pahalgam, Kunzar, surfaced over the years.
The Chief Minister on Tuesday issued directions that any engagements or arrangements made by the departments, PSUs, boards, autonomous bodies at their own level shall also be governed by the instructions of the government and shall be terminated with immediate effect to restore the credibility of the administration, so that it works in a fair and transparent manner.
