Nine days Ram Katha begins

Sunderbani, Mar 22: With the onset of Navratras , all the temples of Sunderbani are witnessing huge rush of devotees. They have been decorated and pooja of Maa Vaishno Devi are being performed. From morning the people were seen installing Kalash and sowing Saakh (Wheat or Barley) at their homes. The saakh according Shastras are considered to be the symbols of happiness and prosperity. At Pracheen Raghunath Temple Prat of tehsil Sunderbani, nine days' Ram Katha began with holding of an impressive Kalash Yatra organised by the local devotees under the chairmanship of Mahatma Ram Dass ji. Raghunath temple is an ancient monument built by Maharaja Gulab Singh somewhere in eighteenth century. During partition the Kabayelees attacked it with an intention to destroy it but in vain. The local youtha of village Prat and Channi have framed an organisation entitled Shri Raghunath Mandir Seva Sangh to strive for developement of temple and organising various religious festivals. They have recently built a hall for holding langars and satsangs.
