NPP demands relief for rain victims

JAMMU, Apr 17: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party today demanded relief for rain victims of District Ramban.
Sewa Singh Bali, State General Secretary PTU, J&K visited several far-flung areas of Ramban to take the stock of situation after heavy rains.
In a press conference while lambasting the district administration for its callous attitude towards the victims of floods and rains in the District of Ramban, he demanded immediate relief for the victims.
Sewa Singh Bali disclosed that the incessant rains during the last year and the current year has caused havoc which swept away several homes, crops and livestock in the district of Ramban. Sewa Singh Bali maintained that several villages in the district are facing the wrath of incessant rains, shortage of relief material, to repair electric poles and inadequate supply of ration and essential commodities. These villages included Pogal Paristan, Phagmulla, Neel, Mahu-Mangat, Khari, Banihal, Chapran, Harsool, Ukhral, Maligam, Sumar, Haroog, Ramsoo, Sangal-Dan, Assar, Khelani, Doda, and many other far-flung areas. He exhorted the government to provide immediate succor to the victims without delay so that they are liberated from the clutches of miseries and sufferings. He added that these areas are deprived of health care facilities, lack of teching staff at GHSS Ukhral and urged upon the administration to provide government dispensaries in these areas.
He strongly urged the Chief Minister to personally intervene and direct the administration to visit these affected areas to provide the compensation to the people. Sewa Singh Bali warned the administration if the administration failed to provide the compensation within seven days. JKNPP shall start the agitation on the street to expose the failure of administration. Other who participated in the press conference included Shri Jagdev Singh, Naveen Blai, Raj Kumar, Asha Rani, Rajinder singh, Shakeel Ahmad Warn', Shankar Singh, Shabir Ahmad, Hoshiyar Singh etc.
