7 schools await completion for want of funds in Inderwal 4/27/2015 11:18:54 PM Bivek Mathur Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 27: Government's indifference towards education sector could be well gauged from the fact that seven school buildings are awaiting completion due to non-release of funds by the state government. As per sources, for the completion of Higher Secondary School Malanoo under state plan with an estimated cost of Rs. 54.16 lacs, the Jammu and Kashmir government has released only Rs 28 lacs. With the money released, building has been raised and roofed but the finishing work is still in progress. Similarly the Higher Secondary School Jakyas constructed under the state plan is awaiting completion as an estimated cost of Rs 56.50 lacs has been fixed for the construction of the school building but till date only Rs. 20.08 lacs have been released owing to which only the slab laying on the ground floor has been completed while the roofing work is still in progress. High School Sigdi which was to be constructed under the District plan with an estimated cost of Rs. 35 lacs is also awaiting completion in the Inderwal constituency as only Rs. 8.00 lacs have been released by the government owing to which the land acquisition work is in progress while the material for raising the building has been procured by the government. Further for the construction of GHS Sarthal, only plinth has been raised till date while the rest of the work is in progress as the school was to be constructed under the State/District plan at an estimated cost of Rs. 47.32 lacs but under the District plan, Rs. 27 lacs stands released whereas under the state plan only Rs. 7.50 lacs have been released by the state government till date. Only Rs. 4.47 lacs have been released for the construction of HS Dharote under the district plan with an estimated cost of Rs 41.20 lacs. With the money released only the construction material has been procured. Similarly for the construction of HS Tanta and GHS Keencha at an estimated cost of Rs 41.20 lacs each only Rs. 1.11 lacs stand released as of now.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
