SRINAGAR, Apr 27: An 11-year-old girl died today after she slipped into a stream while on her way to school in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. Tabasum Gulzar, a sixth standard student, slipped into the stream at Wudar Bala in Handwara area this morning, police said. The girl was washed away by strong water currents caused by heavy rainfall across Kashmir since yesterday, the police said. SRINAGAR, Apr 27: A soldier was killed and another injured after landslides hit an army truck in Ramban district on Jammu and Kashmir. Official sources said the army truck was on way to Udhampur from Banihal when it was hit by landslides near Pantiyal on the Jammu-Srinagar highway. In the incident, two soldiers Naib Subahdar Bimlesh Yadav and constable Ravi Shankar of 5171 /ASC regiment were hurt. Both the soldiers were immediately evacuated to nearby hospital where Bimlesh succumbed to injuries, they said. |
