Jammu, Apr 27: launching a scathing attack on Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) for creating confusion among the common masses of the state and Jammu region in particular, former Minister of State (MoS) for Finance and Cooperatives, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today sought an explanation from Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh if the BJP is interested to set up AIIMS either in Kashmir valley or Jammu region. In a statement issued here today, former minister Dr Manohar Lal Sharma lambasted BJP and its leadership for dubious stand on setting of AIIMS issue. He pointed out that on one side, BJP's Minister of State in PMO, Dr Jatinder Singh is maintaining that AIIMS has to be set up in Jammu region, while on the other hand, Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh is saying that no one can snatch AIIMS from the people of Kashmir. He said, "To whom they are befooling? Kashmir People or from Jammu region? During the electioneering in assembly polls, BJP stroked emotional slogans to bag most of the Assembly seats from Jammu region and aftermath polls the BJP is championing the cause of Kashmir valley, from where it failed to even open its account.. In his written statement, former Minister of State for Finance also sought to know if Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh's statement of setting up AIIMS at Kashmir is his individual wish or this is BJP's stand. Taking a dig on Deputy Chief Minister on his another recent statement that India is using land and power generation of J&K, Congress leader Dr Sharma, quipped what prompts Deputy Chief Minister to remark this. Criticizing BJP for initiating anti-Jammu and anti people policies, Dr Sharma said in view number of daily referral cases from entire Province to PGI, Chandigarh, AIIMS, New Delhi or other private hospitals of other states when all are supporting the cause of Jammu, why BJP alone is deliberately supporting setting up of AIIMS in Kashmir. |
